Fiesta Inn Merida
Buen ubicacion. Limpia. Nuevo. Poco ruidoso. Great location. Nice and clean. New. A little noisy. The rooms are not well insulated from exterior noise from adjoining rooms and the hallway. Lots of good food and beverages available 24 hours.
My girlfriend and I stayed here for one night while visiting Merida during our stay in Playa Del Carmen. As we stayed in Fiesta Inn in Playa del Carmen and was very happy with that hotel, we decided to go with this hotel chain in Merida as well. The rooms are spacious and modern, and contains everything you need for a good stay. It is located a bit out of the city center, but is easily accessible by a quick taxi trip.
"Read my comments please"
Before making a decision about what Hotel to stay in read all my comments, this is not a bad Hotel is just under BAD Management, if you dont mind to wait to get your car because the Valet parking is delivering towels or food or vice versa, this may be a good choice, if you dont mind getting your feet dirty after cleaning yourself because they dont mop the floors, this may be a good choice, if you dont mind the lack of water pressure (even though you have to go the extra mile as guest to call front desk and ask them to remove that device), then this may be a good choice. If you love people smiling at you at the front desk, this will be a good choice.
"Good location, nice design, too snobby"
Location is great. Close to lots of stores and the highways. Nicely designed and decorated. However, the class thing is a bit much. Strange how few beach type, non Mexican people stay there. Pool was being repaired and no one told us as we checked in. Tragic. They knew it and only mentioned everything else. Room layout was silly trendy. Tiny bathroom with the toilet behind the door. Bathroom sink was beside the living room which sprayed all over the counter when you washed your hands. Don't usually care about these things, but this hotel makes extra effort to make itself out as "something". Guess that's the corporate chain crap. I didn't care for it and we stayed somewhere else for the next 2 days/nights. Housekeeping did a really good job and were really friendly women. They are the silver lining to the experience. A/C worked well. Wi-fi was decent but a bit slow at times. Flat screen TV worked for its function but seemed to be in standard definition - the quality was off. The king bed was comfortable. There are blackout curtains if you dont want light to come in. Didnt check out the fitness room so cant comment. The lobby is on the second floor and is quite fancy with various meeting rooms but we didnt use them. There is a smoking area on the patio outside the lobby, which we wish had been made clearer/more obvious. The dining area looked nice but breakfast wasnt included - ~$219 MXN for breakfast buffet.... pass. The issue that pissed me off the most was the valet only parking. What a crap gimmick! Can't park your car yourself? Ask for your car each time - multiple times a day and they expect a tip, otherwise wont smile. Bullcrap. For the price range it was alright. At the same time: Too snobby Too gimmicky Too bad - ain't goin back again!
"Great stay, modern rooms and well located"
We had a great experience at this hotel. We were offered an upgrade to a larger room that we had booked and were able to enjoy amazing views of Merida landscape. The property is well-kept and clean. Our favorite was the breakfast buffet, truly local taste at a very reasonable price. Recommended stay! We'll repeat.
