Fiesta Inn Oaxaca
I have stayed in too many "Fiesta Inn's" in the country, for sure this is the best one. Rooms are pretty much the same, but the rest of the hotel certainly is special. Super nice pool area, 2 fitness centers. Staff is very kind and the hotel is very clean.
"Mediocre hotel experience, mixed opinions about staff. Better options out there, for a better fare."
When we first arrived trouble started, the front desk staff tried to charge us again, even do our booking was already payed via booking.com, they said they didnt know about this, and we showed them the charge on the credit card. It was a terrible experience, it took nearly 20 minutes to get past the issue, after that the hotel staff remembered our names and were extremely nice with us. The hotel room was mediocre, and looking quite dated, it really didn't deserve the 200+USD charge per night. its a very average 4 star hotel, but it doesn't go anywhere past that, the decoration looks very dated in the room, as in most of the hotel. I know that Fiesta INN is going a restructure, with new branding and new experience, but it sems they cant get there fast enough. overall i was disappointed and would not recommend it. The hotel is faraway from everything, 20minutes ride to downtown oaxaca. So that´s a big bummer, we had a car, so we never used the complementary shuttle (that seems to be a nice addition to an overall disappointing experience). Also SUPER SLOW WIFI(less than .7mbps).
"Almost screwed out of $50."
Me and my family visited for the day to use the pool as it was especially hot that day. Had to leave around 1,000 peso credit to use the pool for everyone. Fine. But what I wasn't expecting was the really expensive food bad food, coupled with terrible service. Then getting the bill and delibritely charging us extras that we never ordered. Never coming back.
"Perfect for business but too many families!"
It's a great place to do business, but if you are a family or a traveler, please chose another place to stay, it's not the right place for you. You will be annoying and annoyed for business men. If you do business it's great because the locations helps you to avoid the crowded downtown, how ever if you are most interested in it, it's 10 minutes driving.
"Saved by Fiesta"
In this particular review, I would like to emphasize the attentive customer service I received during my stay. I went out alone to see the market the first day I was in town. I carried a purse and a phone. During my exploration, I decided to walk up to the Planeterio to look at the city from afar. I was attacked at knifepoint by two men who stole my purse and phone. They also tried to rape me but I managed to get away before they could. Once I had access to a phone, I called the Fiesta inn and they were very attentive. Two of their van drivers came out to the police station through the day to sit with with. Jesus was most helpful in translating what happened to the reporter and reading my report back to me to ensure accuracy. The hotel provided a dinner for me and allowed me to talk with my Dad in America to let him know that I was alright. They were very helpful in assisting me with the customs department as well. I would recommend this hotel and I do believe the city is safe (even after being attacked). I believe this was an isolated occurrence that could have happened anywhere. The only negative feedback I would give regards the housekeeping. They cleaned the room, but when I arrived to the hotel (my first night), a bottle of water had been drunk out of and left behind. This pillows were all out of order and the toilet had not been cleaned. The beds are also very hard and uncomfortable. I enjoyed the pool though and the food was good.
