Located in the state of Coahuila along the Nazas River, Torreón is an agricultural, farming, and industrial city hosting textile, steel, and chemical industries. It is located near the cities of Gómez Palacio and Lerdo in Durango; and San Pedro de las Colonias and Francisco I. Madero in Coahuila, right next to the area known as the lagoon county. The main tourist attraction is the Noas Christ, a sculpture located on a hilltop next to a church and all the related shrines, being the second largest one in Latin America. Recently, the Perla Canal was discovered, dating back to the times of the Mexican Revolution, adding further attraction to the city.
